New Director of Cricket announcement

Delighted to announce Gordon Dutch accepting DoC role

Tring Park CC are very pleased to announce that Gordon Dutch (also known as Steve Dutch’s Dad!), has agreed to step back into the role of Director of Cricket (DoC) at TPCC. Gordon has been a member at TPCC for over 20 years and in that time held several key positions, including Chairman of Youth Section between 2002-2009, when he grew the TPCC Youth Section from around 50 members to 300.

Gordon was also DoC from mid 2016 to mid 2019, with 2018 being one of the most successful seasons TPCC has ever had overall as a club. As part of his previous stint as DoC, Gordon brought Mark Ramprakash and other high-level coaches to work at TPCC and we were competing to win the Prem.

As some of you may have also noticed, we recently added a new player called Phil Mustard. https://www.espncricinfo.com/player/phil-mustard-17185 As you can see from his profile, Phil previously played for England and Gloucestershire. Gordon brought him in to strengthen the 1’s, which of course in turn has helped availability in the other adult sides. Phil is planned to play a further 2, possibly 3 of the remaining 4 games TPCC 1’s have left and we really need to win as many of those as possible to stay up. The 2’s are in a similar position and so do please come along and give your support to all the sides for the rest of this season, it really does make a difference!

Last Saturday the 2’s had an incredible win at home chasing down 295 runs and this Saturday, we saw another fantastic TPCC win for the 1’s at home over Great Brickhill, who had comfortably beaten TPCC at their place in the previous fixture this season. Even better, whilst Phil Mustard made a small contribution with the bat, it was our very own Tring boys who won the game, with both Mo and Dicko getting 50’s, ably supporting by Ed Pike (39) and Weymesy taking 6 for 40, Mo 3 for 32 and Ed 1 for 23, winning by 145 runs.

Please provide a warm TPCC welcome to both Gordon and Phil. We are confident that Gordon’s wealth of experience and wide range of contacts within the cricket community, will yet again have a very positive effect at TPCC going forward, but first job and no small feat, will be to try and keep both the 1’s and 2’s stay up this season, if we can.

We’re certainly going to try and so please come and give us your support!
