1st Game for our U9's

At last we had some dry weather and the U9's were able to get their first game under their belt.

The team selected was as follows

One of the Hemel players thought the game was at Tring so the toss was made and it was decided that Hemel bat first. The philosophy of the under 9's is that everyone bowls two overs and everyone gets to bat for four overs.

Hemel batted well and moved heir total to an impressive 287, in these games the teams start at 200, so in effect they scored 87 off the 16 overs. Helped by 55 extras in wides and no balls. The highlight of the innings was from David Stokes who bagged two wickets clean bowled.

Tring then came into bat and struggled to score runs and ended up on 248 with 53 runs in extras very similar to the Tring extras given away. Unfortunately as wickets are -5 runs for each wicket given away we were actually -5 for runs scored off the bat.

The highlight was a 4 from Rex Evans.

So a bit to work on but all in all a good start for a mixed year 3 & 4 team.
