It was a beautify morning to play cricket and the team were well up for the game.

Jacob S was made captain and chose the following batting order.

1. Hannah D
2. Tom PW
3. Ben B
4. George M
5. Alex O
6. Jacob S
7. Charlie S
8. James D
9. Oakley T
10 Finley M
11. Finley W

Hannah and Tom opened against their bowlers Stephen and Daniel and both looked comfortable until Daniel brought one into Hannah down the slop and clean bowled her. Then the mayhem started, in 15 balls Tom and Ben put on 33 runs with one over going for 24 with three 4's and two 6's from Ben. Ben retired on 26 off 10 balls with Tring on 49 off 4 overs.

George replaced Ben and partnered Tom in a big partnership (sorry I don't have the exact numbers). Tom retired on 26 after hitting four 4's and one 6. George batted well and also retired on 25 hitting the boundary on 4 occasions. Alex came in and was playing well until Dan bowled him on 19, a good innings which included three 4's. We were 121/2 off 15 overs.

Grand Union pegged us back and we ended on 140/3 off our twenty overs. Dan bowled very well if you take on the over Ben went mad on, where he scored 24, as Dan ended up with figures of 26/2 off three overs.

We decided that the players who retired would only bowl one over each and if anyone didn't bat they would bowl three overs. We aim to mix things up with the B team games so those who missed out on batting today, will get their opportunity in the next B team game they play in.

Our captain Jacob opened the bowling and bowled well, he was unlucky not to get any wickets but his three over spell went for only 9 runs. Finley W bowled well picking up a wicket and going for only 14 runs in his three overs. Hannah was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets for a miserly six runs. Finley Marshall also bowled well with two wickets in this three overs for 20. Charlie, Alex, Ben and George made up the overs all bowling well.

Champagne moments include two good catches from James Dean, a cracking catch from TPW at wicket keeper, Hannah taking the top of off stump in her final over and Ben's two big sixes and Tom with a hard hit six as well.

Player of the match, I think I have to pick two. Ben for his quick fire 26 and Hannah for bowling figures of 6/3 off three overs.

Well done to everyone and many thanks for all the parents who supported from the sideline, I know the players enjoy hearing the applause from the sidelines.

Next game will be on Monday 17th away to Bushy. The A team have a game this Sunday away to Leverstock Green. Please can you update your child's availability and we will select the team later in the week.

Well done everyone!
