Well on mine anyway. The answer was to be yes but it was by no means straightforward. I was quite happy to lose the toss as I was undecided
what to do and NPL chose to have first use of the wicket.
KK and Gemma Marriott bowled well with out luck as the NPL openers put on 95 in the first 22 overs with Nick and Steve Wale also coming on to bowl without success. We were in danger of chasing a very large total but the Wales the bowled an opener each. Khan a with a good 48 was looking very dangerous and Churchman scored a well made 50.
Hendo , Grouty and KK took a wicket apiece and a very disciplined bowling and fielding performance restricted NPL to 189-5.
We had a very strong batting line up on paper and losing early wickets meant we would need it. Ally Partner who also kept well looked in good nick before falling to a great catch on 41 as did Jimmy Dewhirst who scored 21. At 103-5 the game was in the balance but the Pod of Wales saw us home. I don't know if two constitutes a Pod but their dad was also watching so that makes three!!
Steve (pictured) scored 60 and Nick 47. So with two games to go we remain second. It has been a great season and hopefully we can finish strongly and gain a promotion
our cricket this year deserve
