On a cloudy day in Beaconsfield the Fours came second against Farnham Common. I probably made
a mistake putting them into bat thinking that the soft surface might improve as the day went on.
It didn't although our goose was cooked by an average fielding display with a bit of bad luck thrown in.
Their opener Armagahn scored a 129 although he hit the ball well he should never have got near that
as a combination of dropped chances or balls dropping near fielders gave him a few lives.
He was well supported by some attacking batting at the other end as Farnham amasssed 287-7.
Gemma Mariott and Ben Beazani with two wickets apiece were the pick of the Tring bowlers.
We needed a good start but were quickly 29-3 . Nick Wale and young Tom Powell- Williams
batted well both getting past 40 but another flurry of wickets reduced us to 133-7. Ben Bezani
then produced some lusty blows as we got to 199-8 off our 40. Ben very unlucky to be stranded
on 49 not out. In the end we were well beaten but not disgraced as we picked up 9 point and
remain second with three games to go.
