There has been a change of tactics from the 4's as we have been batting first when possible due to the heat wave. Doyley had
prepared a belter and after winning the toss we decided to have a go first. We welcomed Cammy (pictured) back into the 4's and Jimmy
Dewhirst also made his debut.
Despite losing a couple of quick wickets Cammi and Steve Wale took us onto 110-2 after 24 with a great base to push on. A flurry of quick wickets including top scorer Camm for 63 and Wale for 38 saw us slump to 151-8. Ed Pike and Skipper Grouty took us onto 185 -8 with an entertaining partnership! Marlow bowled vey well and I felt we were a few runs short as they have a strong batting line up.
I was wrong. KK continued his fine bowling form with an early wicket but it was young Ed Pike who took the key wicket of Marlow captain Stephens with a great short ball that was top edged to Duncan Marriott at square leg. KK continued to bowl straight and and wickets tumbled .
Despite some hard chances being grounded Tring kept the pressure on. Marlow were a little unlucky with 2 batsman playing on. KK ended up with a great 5 for and Grouty choked them going for only 16 off 9 overs . Ed Pike also bowled exceptionally well with 3-29 as Marlow Park were bowled out for 141.
So six from six at home. Again a great all round team performance . Let's keep it going.
