It was nice to be back at the Park this week as we seem to perform a lot better at home . So it proved again and we also provided ample proof that bad balls get wickets . Credit to Chesham who only had 9 players but battled well, they won the toss and elected to bat. Their captain set out his stall to try and bat through their overs and they ended up with a decent total of 152 . The rank full toss proved to far more effective than good balls in taking wickets . The three juniors Ben Bezani , Tom Powell- Williams and Harvey Graham all bowled well without reward . It was left to to our older bowlers to share out the wickets. Duncan, Double K , Chris Powell and veteran captain Grouty got two each. This weeks lesson, forget length and line it's all about variation! Fielding with 9 is always hard and despite a couple of scares we chased the total down . Dick Highton carried on from 2 weeks ago batting through for an unbeaten 65 . Ably supported by Joe Shearman and Aussie Ant we ended up Winning by 8 wickets . Another good day for the club with all four Saturday teams and our ladies also winning.
