One of the many joys of being Fourth team captain is never quite knowing what your team will be until the game starts! This was the case on Saturday and we ended up with 7 changes from the previous week. We were missing some key bowlers and when I called wrongly and they elected to bat a hard afternoon was on the cards. So it proved . Beaconsfields two openers were both on top form striking the ball very cleanly . Our bowing was dispatched and they raced to 200-0 at drinks . To be fair we stuck at it and although they ended up with a monster 332-8 we can claim we won the second half of their innings !! The Warsaw express held 4 catches and took a couple of wickets , Rachid bowled well and got a couple , Grouty was on a hatrick and Ben Bezani took his first wicket in men's cricket bowing their opener . Matt Cave again kept well. Our target was to try and pick up as many batting points as possible . Nick Wake with a fine 50 well supported by Stuart Seagrave got us off to solid start at 70-1 . Sadly for us their young spinner Toby Slater bowled really well. Taking 8 wickets we crumbled to 121 all out. C'est la vie , they are a team we always enjoy playing and we had an enjoyable beer afterwards , onto next week.
