Tring Park ran out victors with over seven overs to spare but not before fortunes had fluctuated during the Amersham innings.
Tring Park’s opening bowlers, Paul Orton and Dan Boniface, made early inroads to reduce Amersham to 13 for 3 in the eighth over. Callum Tilbury and Alex Cole then swung the game in Amersham’s favour with a partnership of 116 in a little under twenty overs. By this time Ricci Trenti had been introduced to the attack and he bowled Tilbury in his fourth over, took two more wickets in his fifth and had Cole caught at the wicket by Steve Dutch in his sixth. While all this was going on Toby Wastling had chipped in with another wicket thanks to a running catch by James Bushe at mid on. Amersham had slumped from 129 for 3 to 138 for 8 in three overs and five balls. 48 runs were scored for the last two wickets thanks to 42 from Joe Shuttle who was bowled from the last ball of the 52 overs to give Trenti his fifth wicket.
Needing 187 to win at a little under four runs an over Tring Park were given a solid start with an opening partnership of 66 between Richard Ambrose and Matt Bowyer in nearly 16 overs. This good start was built on by Matt Grinham and Trenti who put on 78 for the third wicket in 98 balls. Following his five wickets, Trenti completed his man of the match performance with 56 at slightly over a run a ball before being dismissed by Cole. Grinham was out two overs later for a more watchful, but nevertheless valuable, 45. That left Bushe the task of bringing up victory with a cover drive for four.
