The Aussies Have Arrived

A couple of talented young Australian all-rounders have joined the club for the 2018 season.

Angus Cumming and Charlie Greer arrived in Tring last weekend from Orange in New South Wales and weather permitting will make their debuts next weekend. The pair both play first eleven cricket for Kinross Wolaroi in NSW and will play for the second and third eleven teams this summer as overseas players.

Angus is a genuine all-rounder who bats in the middle order and spin bowler. He had a successful season over the winter as he ended the season being named as one of five of Orange County’s Players’ of the Season.

The club's connection with Angus goes right to 1987 when his mother's brother, Jack Gordon became Tring's first overseas player. Jack returned a couple of years later for a second stint and a firm entrenchment in TPCC folklaw as Dave Kempster's wingman. With Jack's brother, Duncan making his way across from Australia to play for the club a few years later, the Kempster / Gordon families have managed to maintain an incredibly special trans-continental relationship

Like Angus, Charlie is an all-rounder who is capable of influencing games with both bat and ball. Charlie bats anywhere in the top six and is a seam bowler who takes the new ball or comes on first change.

Hopefully the guys will continue their excellent winter form and both have excellent summers on and off the field.
