A fast start from the visitors was only curtailed by a smart run out from club captain Benn Kempster who relayed the ball to wicket-keeper Dave Crane who took the bails. A second wicket followed soon after when Ian Ridley had Doyle well stumped by Crane as the Piranhas clawed their way back into the game.
The experienced pair of Alex Laine and Duncan Marriott bowled well in the middle overs stopping a full onslaught from the visitors. Vice-captain Toby Seagrave picked up two wickets at the death as Hawridge & Cholesbury finished on 158-6 from their 20 overs.
The early loss of openers Harvey Chamberlain and Josh Camm gave the Piranhas a stuttering slow start from which they never recovered. Ed Pike, Crane and Kempster all played nice cameos without getting the big score. With a middle order collapse threatening to lead to a heavy defeat, Toby Seagrave stuck a valuable 29 as the Piranhas eventually finished 18 runs short of the target.
