Matt Bowyer takes over from Gordon Dutch

I'm sorry to announce that for work and family reasons, Gordon Dutch has chosen to step down as Director of Cricket. Gordon is in the process of setting up a new business and has a number of family matters that he has to deal with in the coming months/year, which means his time to focus on cricket and TPCC will be limited. I'm sure everyone will recognise the fantastic committment Gordon has made over the last three years. For me personally, he has been a massive source of support and have have greatly appreciated his 'can do' spirit.

It's by no means goodbye for Dutchy as he is keen to take on a different role at the end of the season, as Chair of a new TPCC Cricket Development Team. More news in due course, but the simple aim for this team would be to further develop the ‘player pathways’ for our Youth Section to create and retain more ‘Home Grown’ players who can represent the club at the the highest level.

I'm delighted to report that Matt Bowyer has agreed to take over as DOC until the end of the season. We'll then take stock with a view to making an appointment for the next two years.

Matt, is widely respected, has been a stalwart at the club with both the Youth Section and Adult teams and represented the club for many years at 1st team level. Matt has a son who is also progressing through the Youth Section at the current time and has a great interest in developing the club at all levels.

Matt is looking forward to getting stuck into his new role and I'm sure he can look forward to great support from all corners of the club.

Best Wishes,
Nick
