Third Team In Title Chase
Mark Bater's Third Team won the crucial clash against top of the table Wraysbury on Saturday.
Bater won the toss and put Wraysbury into bat and we restricted the scoring rate with some good opening bowling from Toby Seagrave and Charlie Greer.
Wickets were slow to appear until Tristan Murrell joined the attack and allroundrr Harvey Graham grabbed a great diving catch. This was followed by some tidy bowling from Dab Boniface with 18 overs for 50 runs and 1 wicket. This allowed James Darraugh Leg Breaks to be used with effective results as James took five for 69 runs from 15 overs. The visitors ended the 52 overs on 202 runs for 8 wickets.
Tring started batting briskly with Bater and Graham adding 44 before the former departed. This meant Benn Kempster (pictured) joined Graham at the wicket and with a careful selection of shots started to take the game by the scruff off the neck.
Kempster had steady partnerships with Graham and Tom Calder but dominated effectively to finish his innings on 80 runs and the score on 171. This should have been a formality to finish off but we managed to loose a further two wickets handing Wraysbury vital bowling points before wicket-keeper Dave Crane and Darraugh saw it Home.
This leaves the Third Team two points from top in third with four games to go.
