Another great loss for Tring Park Cricket Club

Yet again, the club must mourn the passing of one of its great servants.

Toby joined the club in 2003 and in his fifteen years with us scored 233 Home Counties Premier League games; had he scored just three more he would have scored more games in the League than any other person. He was renowned for his individual method of linear scoring, which was always meticulously and neatly prepared. He also scored games for other teams, most notably the Bunbury Cricket Club, which allowed him to bring his two greatest passions together: cricketing and raising funds for charity. But his charity work was not confined to Bunburys as he would often be found to be forgoing his lunch at Tring Park to walk round the boundary to raise funds for a worthy cause.

He was a keen supporter of Warwickshire, his home county, and when they advertised for a new scorer a few years ago he was very disappointed to not get the job. He was a great servant to the game and will be missed by his many friends and in many score boxes up and down the country. R.I.P Toby.
