Rhythm & Brews: Great Music . . . Great Beer

The inaugural Rhythm & Beers Festival begins this Thursday at the club and runs until Sunday.

Rhythm and Brews, created by the Blues Bar Tring and Tring Cricket Club, sponsored by The Akeman and supported by Tring Brewery, combines top class rhythm and blues musical acts with 12 of the finest cask ales, for a great summer night out at Tring Park Cricket Club.

The cost of a day music ticket in advance is £10 while on the day it will cost £12.

The festival begins on Thursday with the bars opening at 4pm. Our opening act Storm Warning take the stage at 8.30pm so there is plenty of time to get down and enjoy a selection of the 12 different beers on offer before settling down for some great live music. We will also have our full bar menu available to help soak up any beer filled stomachs.

The bar once again opens at 4pm and the live music again begins at 8.30pm with Three Bar Fire taking to the stage. There will also be junior cricket practise being held on Friday evening which means our usual BBQ will also be able to fill up any hungry tummies.

Our Saturday line-up is outstanding. The bar opens at Midday giving the happy punters more time to taste many if not all of our 12 different beers on offer.

Our Second Team are at home on the main ground against Kew while the Fourth Team take on Hayes on the back pitch. If that's not enough for you we will also be showing the Royal Wedding, Rugby Premiership Semi-Finals and the 2018 FA Cup Final on the big screen.

The at 8.30pm, a Blues Bar favourite the John Verity Band take the stage to round off an action packed Saturday. Once again our full bar menu will be available all day.

Finally on Sunday the Bar will once again be open at Midday with the fantastic Sweetcornbread closing the festival at 3.30pm.

BANDS

Storm Warning have earned a reputation as one of the UK’s best and individual blues bands with the vocals and blues harp of Son Maxwell and the sublime guitar playing of Bob Moore. In their 10 year history, the band has featured several times on BBC Radio 2 as well as other radio stations in the UK, Europe and USA. At the 2017 Great British Rock & Blues Festival they played the Introductory Stage and won the best band slot. Enjoy originals & blues covers from artists such as Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed, Luther Allison, Howlin Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zepplin, Jeff Beck and more.

Three Bar Fire is a Buddy King R&B collaboration band, playing your favourite covers from the 50's, 60's, 70's to present day. Boogie Woogie ,Swing and British & Americana R&B

John Verity began his music career in the early 1960s and was on lead guitar with Argent between 1972-1976. John has played wth a host of legends throughout his career including Keith Emerson, Jools Holland, Mike Rutherford, The Zombies and many more.

Sweetcornbread are from Hemel Hempstead and were a huge hit at the 2017 Tring Festival of Fire. Their distinctive style comes from a crossover of genres. With references to the likes of The Band, Clash and Gomez. You will hear undertones of Americana, Reggae, Funk, Latin and Bluegrass amongst their all original material.
