New Vice Presidents. Guy Masters elected Honorary Vice President

Like many sports clubs, Tring Park Cricket Club is proud to recognise members and supporters who have given outstanding service to the club, on or off the field, over many years, by inviting them to become a Vice President of the club. The Vice Presidents at TPCC are a vital reminder that there is no such thing as a club without people and it is people who make good things happen here. Those to whom this invitation has recently been extended by the Management Team are as follows:

· Tim Cooper, Managing Director of Dayla, a loyal and generous sponsor to TPCC over many years

· Sukh Sani, Managing Partner/Ower of Pictons, a great supporter of our women and girl’s section

· Mervyn Ramsey, who has been the driving force behind the series of Lord’s Taverners games which have become such a great feature of our season

· Lizzie Cooper who has thrown her heart and soul into volunteering at the club over many years and is currently doing such an amazing job with the Junior section

· Charlotte Newman, another long standing supporter of the club who currently performs the immensely important role of Safeguarding Officer for TPCC

· Benn Kempster, fabulous player, supporter, Club Captain and passionate advocate for our great game and the development of young talent

The very highest honour at TPCC is that of Honorary Vice President. Nominations for this honour should never be made lightly. As a reminder, this honour is awarded only to those who have made an outstanding voluntary contribution over many many years. It' s a short list, including the likes of Peter Haynes, David Kempster, Jim Bowyer, Lionel Hitchings and Ian Lewington, along with existing Management Team members Simon Wastling, David Sidwell and former and current Presidents, John Overy and Martin Abel.

At our last Management Team meeting, I’m delighted to announce that the name of Guy Masters was added to that list. Guy has been a long serving member of the committee/Management Team and is a Trustee of the club. In recent years, in his role as Ground Chairman, he has forged a massively productive and strong relationship with Doyley, with results that are there for us all to enjoy each summer. What we don't all necessarily see are the countless extra hours he does personally, to ensure our grounds look immaculate. Over the past 12 months he was instrumental in ensuring our facility was Covid safe and played a leading role in getting the bar back open, in what were challenging circumstances, for many reasons. He steers clear of politics, says it how he sees it and gets on with the job. A man with a massive heart, whose service to the club, is worthy of this ultimate recognition. I hope all members will join me in congratulating Guy, along with our new Vice Presidents.

Best Wishes,
Nick
