Former Tring Park overseas player Peter Handscomb has started Australia A's tour of England in fine form as they warm up for the Ashes.

The A team are currently on the limited overs leg of their tour which sees them play five matches across 13 days from June 20. The have won their opening two games against Northamptonshire and Derbyshire and play the next game of their tour against Worcestershire at Kidderminster on Tuesday.

Pete is batting at number four and is also keeping wicket ahead of Tasmania's Matthew Wade scored 64 in the opening win at Northamptonshire and also hit an unbeaten 28 against Derbyshire.

Handscomb has also been named in the Australia A four-day squad who play three matches, starting on July 7, July 13 and July 23. The last of those matches will be an Australia A v Australia contest, which looms as a critical selection showdown ahead of the Ashes opener less than a week later.

Hopefully Pete, who plundered over 1000 runs for Tring as our overseas player in 2011 will get his chance in the Ashes squad by scoring lots of runs for the A team in June through to August.
