Former overseas player Peter Handscomb has been recalled to the Australia Test Team for their opening test against India starting on December 6.

Uncertainty still reigns over the makeup of Australia's problematic batting after selectors unveiled their 14-man squad on Thursday for the first two Tests of the summer. Seven batsmen have been named but the task of picking the top six is not simple. Pete is likely competing with uncapped Victoria team-mate Marcus Harris for a place in Tim Paine's team for the opening test at Adelaide.

With one more Sheffield Shield game before the First Test, Pete will be looking to strengthen his claim with a strong performance against Queensland in a game which starts next Thursday.

Pete averages 43.63 in his 13 Test Matches to date with two hundreds and four half centuries.

Everybody at the club is incredibly proud of Pete. He plundered over 1,000 runs for our club scoring three hundreds and seven fifties during his hugely impressive spell with the club in 2011.
