Handscomb Leads Victoria To One Day Title

Peter Handscomb captained Victoria to their first one day title since 2011 when they defeated Tasmania by 110 runs on Wednesday to win the JLT Cup

Handscomb was also named man of the match in the final where he made 49 runs and took four catches behind the stumps as Victoria won the 50th addition of domestic limited-overs cricket in Australia.

Pete, who played for Tring Park in 2011 had an outstanding tournament scoring 369 runs at an average of 51 with four half centuries.

Victoria posted 274 from their 50 overs with Cameron White top scoring with 88 with Handscomb making 49 and Marcus Harris 45. Tasmania seamer Gurinder Sandhu claimed 7-56 including a final-over hat-trick.

In response, Tasmania was bowled out for 164. Alex Doolan top-scored with 46, with the Victorian bowlers sharing the wickets.

Congratulations to Pete from everybody at the club and hopefully his outstanding form will result in his return to the Australia Test and One Day teams.
