Fab Fireworks, Bar news and more....

Tring Festival of Fire
Another great night for Tring Park Cricket Club! Thank you so much to all those that turned out to lend a hand at what is the club’s biggest annual fundraiser. For me personally, it was the first time for 6 years that I’ve not needed to be there on the night, though I was following proceedings on Whatsapp avidly from a bar in Portugal! It was truly wonderful to see the load spread among more members this year and I’m particularly grateful to Andy Grout and Kempo for stepping up to operational control over the weekend. Many others played their part too in another great example of what we can achieve when we all pull together. Saturday November 2nd is the date for the diary next year!

Winter Sundays – ABOUT TURN
Since announcing that the bar will close on Sunday during the winter, other than for major sporting events, a number of members have asked if this decision could be reconsidered. So I’m delighted to report that the bar will continue to be open every Sunday throughout the winter. Usual hours will be 2pm to 6.30pm, with flexibility according to What’s On. All the details will be flagged in advance in the “Weekly What’s On at the Club” post. Please pop along on Sunday afternoons!

Winter Nets
Interest in adult winter nets starting in January has been very poor. Unless it picks up soon, the start date will move back to the beginning of March. More news to following in due course.
Meanwhile Junior Winter nets are going very well with the best numbers for many ears. A reminder that these are running alternate weeks from 18:00 - 19:30 John Colet School Wharf Road Wendover HP22 6HF. For more information speak to George Bezani or Chris Curry.

New Bar Contract
I’m delighted to report that we have a new three-year agreement in place with Adam and Claudia. Thank you to both for all that do for the club. Onwards and upwards.

Kitchen Refurbishment
We hope to have this project underway and completed in Q1 of 2019. Many thanks to all those who donated in our fundraising campaign and to David Sidwell, who secured us a grant from the Rothchild Foundation, which got us to the target we had set.

Family Bingo
Eyes down on Friday November 23 for a night of Family Bingo at TPCC. To register your place or for more info, contact Gareth Darby: garethdarby@btopenworld.com

Christmas lunch
Sunday December 16 is the date for this year’s TPCC Christmas lunch. It’s a lovely festive, family occasion. If you’ve not been before, why not take this opportunity to join spread some seasonal good cheer among your fellow club mates, while enjoying a traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings. Reserve your place(s) with an email to Adam at tringcricketreservations@hotmail.co.uk

Best wishes
Nick
