Quiz Night, Pre-Season Social, Coloured Kit, Digital Upgrade - Pitchvision is coming?

Happy New Year Everyone!
There’s loads to look forward to this year, not least the AGM on Friday March 1st at 7.30pm. Okay, to be honest, it’s not necessarily the most gripping event of the year…but everyone is welcome and apart from the chance to ask me a tricky question, you will be invited to approve some changes to the Club Rules, approve Captains and Management Team posts, and to sign off on the proposed membership subscriptions for this year. Please do come along. Here’s the rest of the news:

Unwanted Christmas bottles!
…make for fabulous raffle prizes! There’s also a few members of the club both enjoy and benefit from winning Lynx Christmas gift packs (you know who they are). Please drop them off at the bar and you can win them back later in the season.

Umpiring Course – a reminder
We will be running an Umpires course in the clubhouse on Sunday February 24th. This will be free to attend and those who would like to do a spot of umpiring for the club in 2019 – especially non-players are very welcome to attend. To sign up, contact: simon.wastling@ntlworld.com

Winter Nets – a reminder
Time to get the kit out the loft! Nets start on Wednesday Feb 27th at John Collet school, Wendover. More info here. Lay the foundations for this season’s success right here.

Quiz Night - March 9th, 7.30pm
One of the most popular social nights of the year and sure to be a sellout, as Grouty and Gareth, plumb the innermost workings of their respective brains to produce another set of questions that will delight, befuddle and torment…in equal measure. Teams of eight with a curry included in the ticket price of £10 per person. Sign your team up with a note to Gareth: garethdarby@btopenworld.com

Pre-Season Social – April 12th
A marriage made in heaven…..the unique combination of Gin and Sausage will once more form the backdrop for our pre-season social, when all members can gather to hear about and discuss topics such as our latest new signings, the new coloured kit, Kempo’s extensive winter training regime (?) and the prospect of a quicker ball from Grouty this season. All members are welcome to join in the fun and set the tone for another season of great one-club spirit.
Tickets will be available via the website very shortly. Gareth would welcome some help at social events throughout the season, so please contact him if you are happy to lend a hand.

The President’s tax-efficient fundraising campaign: Digital Upgrade
Following the success of last year’s Just Giving campaign to raise money for our imminent kitchen refurbishment, our President John Overy has launched a campaign, best described as a Digital Upgrade. There are two component parts: 1. The installation of Pitchvision to enable live streaming of games on the first ground, so that members can connect to the action even if they can’t be at the game in person. Many members experienced this exciting technological innovation at away games this year and requested they we get similar at TPCC. At the same time, we suggest we upgrade our clubhouse TV screen, in time for the cricket world cup.
Read a short message from our President and make your tax efficient donation to the cause here: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/TPCCdigital-upgrade
Any donation, no matter how small, will take us a little closer to our target.

Junior Sign On – 1pm to 3pm.
Meet the Junior Management Team, get all your questions answered, buy some new kit and sign the kids up!

..and a final cheery thought. As each week goes by, it’s getting lighter by another 10 minutes! Senior Fixtures start April 20th and Junior Fixtures April 22

Best wishes
Nick
