The 2018 senior averages have been collated and checked are now available to download through the club website.

The club has had an excellent season and the performances by our players both individually and collectively has been fantastic. Overall the club won 42 of our 81 senior games this summer, suffering only 21 defeats. We used a total of 91 different players this summer with 59 of the 91 turning their arm over.

First Team allrounder Michael Payne (top left) led the way with the bat this summer scoring 556 runs in all cricket. In First Team League games, debutant David Brent (top right) was our leading scorer with a hugely impressive 530 runs at an average of 44.17. Opening batsman AJ Woodland was the only other batsman to pass 500 runs in all competitions, although overall we had 10 batsman who scored 300+ runs during this campaign.

In terms of wickets our two young lads from New South Wales dominated with the ball. Angus Cumming (bottom left) took the most wickets this summer, he claimed 38 wickets with his mixture of seam and spin bowling. Fellow Aussie Charlie Greer was second in terms of most wickets as he picked up 27 wickets with a strike-rate 29.56. The First Team had three bowlers who took 20+ wickets, with Payne leading the way with 23 wickets, just ahead of Brent and seamer Andy Harris.

Steve Dutch (bottom right) and Jeremy O'Neill shared the keeping duties for the First Team and they both picked up the most dismissals overall. Dutch's tally of 19 victims was one more than O'Neill's 18, however the latter made the most stumpings (6). David Crane was the only keeper to pick up 10+ victims, with his 12 spread across the Second, Third and Fourth Teams.

Our leading fieldsman in terms of catches was Rory Criddle who took 12 catches this summer including four caught and bowled.

The averages are available to download below. I have produced an overall document and also broken down by team. If anybody wants a personal review, please e-mail me.
